The Super Sensitive™ Polymer-HRP IHC Detection System is a novel product that facilitates the production of high quality staining results with minimum background especially in those tissues which have high level of endogenous biotin. This method is used in lieu of streptavidin-biotin thus eliminating background that can be caused by endogenous biotin.

For immunohistochemical detection, cells or tissues are prepared and then incubated with an unlabeled primary antibody that will bind to the antigen. The tissue is then treated with Super Enhancer™ which enhances the effects of the subsequent reagents, the Polymer HRP. The bound antibody is detected with a species-specific secondary antibody that will recognize primary antibodies.

This is polymeric secondary antibody conjugated with enzyme (HRP). A substrate is then added and acted upon by the enzyme, producing a highly visible chromogenic substrate-enzyme reaction.
