Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a 170-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein receptor found on a variety of cell types. After a ligand binds to a single-chain EGFR, the receptor forms a dimer that signals within the cell by activating receptor autophosphorylation through tyrosine kinase activity. Autophosphorylation triggers a series of intracellular pathways that may result in ion transport, morphological changes and proliferative activity. Analyte Specific Reagent. Analytical and performance characteristics are not established.
