In order to obtain optimal IHC staining, it is of the utmost importance to control the conditions under which Antigen Retrieval is performed, including temperature, time and pH of the Antigen Retrieval Solution. BioGenex has introduced a system that does just that - EZ Retriever® System, which includes the EZ Retriever® System and the EZ-AR™ Solutions . This system reduces the time taken by Dewax and Antigen Retrieval steps to 35 minutes.
The EZ Retriever® System precisely controls the duration of and the temperature at which the Antigen Retrieval occurs. The EZ-AR™ Solutions are pH controlled solutions, and the protocols for the Antigen Retrieval of various antibodies have been optimized using these solutions. Through the complete control of conditions, and the optimization of the protocols, the process of Antigen Retrieval has been standardized, ensuring the same excellent results each time.
The EZ Retriever® System is a microwave-based time- and temperature-controlled system for use in Dewax, Rehydration and Antigen Retrieval of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
The EZ Retriever® System resolves the issues of the result inconsistency in using different types of microwave ovens with varying maximum power levels, different solution volumes, and heating time. BioGenex's Antigen Retrieval system enables the standardization of dewax and Antigen Retrieval protocols, resulting in high quality and reproducible results.

The EZ-AR™ Solutions possess unique properties that enable Dewax, Rehydration, and Antigen Retrieval in formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded tissue sections.
Some EZ-AR™ Solutions can reach temperatures as high as 107°C. These solutions, when used with the EZ Retriever™, facilitate the production of highly reproducible and superior quality stains in a considerably short amount of time, without compromising on the morphology and antigenicity of the tissue. Furthermore, these solutions eliminate the need for enzymatic pretreatment in most cases.
Since these solutions are aqueous, there is no organic waste to dispose of at the end of the Antigen Retrieval process.
