BioGenex launches fourth batch of ready-to-use primary antibodies for cancer diagnostics

BioGenex, a pioneer in automated staining solution provider for cancer diagnostics announces the launch of four new ready-to-use primary antibodies for cancer immunohistochemistry (IHC). With our Super Sensitive Detection System, our IHC solution offers the widest portfolio with over 400 primary antibodies, reagents, consumables and ancillaries.



Included in the launch are

Anti-Calcitonin, Clone SP17:
This antibody recognizes Calcitonin, a 32 amino acid polypeptide hormone that is commonly expressed in the parafollicular cells (also known as C cells) of the thyroid gland. It acts to reduce blood calcium, opposing the effects of parathyroid hormone. Calcitonin staining may be used for the identification of C-cell proliferative abnormalities ranging from C-cell hyperplasia to invasive tumors such as medullary thyroid tumor. Anti-N-cadherin, Clone 5D5:
N-cadherin is a 140 kDa protein belonging to the cadherin superfamily of calcium-dependent adhesion molecules. Cadherins are involved in controlling morphogenetic movements during development and regulate cell surface adhesion through homotypic adhesion with the same cadherin species. N-cadherin is required during gastrulation for the establishment of left-right asymmetry. At certain central nervous system synapses, presynaptic to postsynaptic adhesion is mediated at least in part by this gene product. Find out more about anti-N-cadherin.

Anti-PAX-5, Clone 24/Pax-5:
PAX5, also known as B-cell specific activator protein (BSAP), is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. PAX proteins are important regulators in early development; and alterations in the expression of their genes are thought to contribute to neoplastic transformation. Its expression is upregulated early in B-cell development at the time of B-cell commitment and is maintained throughout most subsequent stages. Anti-STAT5 alpha, Clone 6D4:
STAT5 alpha is a member of the signal transducer and activator of transcription factors (STAT) family, mediating growth and cytokine signaling. Upon activation, STAT5 is phosphorylated by receptor tyrosine kinases and, in turn, forms homodimers or hererodimers with other family members through its SH2 domains. STAT5 plays a crucial role in variety of physiological functions, including reproduction, lactation, immune function, and somatic growth.

BioGenex is offering these new antibodies in different formats: - ready-to-use (RTU) vials for manual staining and bar-coded vials for the i6000® and Xmatrx® family of automated staining systems. They are also available in concentrated format along with the antibody diluent (#HK156) and are also compatible with third-party detection systems.
